International Products MABE (MABESA) was founded by Gilberto Marín Quintero in Puebla, Mexico.
It began operations in the disposable hygiene products sector, including baby diapers, adult protection, feminine hygiene pads, and wet wipes.
MABESA became the second-largest manufacturer in the disposable industry after Kimberly-Clark, with successful brands such as Bio Baby, BBtips, Affective, and Fiore, which gained great acceptance in Mexico and Latin America.

During the 1981 economic crisis in Mexico, MABESA needed domestic raw materials to sustain its growth. This led to the creation of Industrias Maquinsa, consolidating its horizontal and vertical integration to supply high-quality, soft, nonwoven fabric for disposable diaper manufacturing.
